Philosophy

Each email address receives different types of spam, some receive none at all, Key to our philosophy is the ability to tailor blocking and delaying to individual accounts. We believe that no email should be lost, and that you must be able to search and find any potential email.

Setting up accounts

After you have uploaded a list of all of your accounts, you can set your default protection level to Low, this will allow some spam through, but will ensure that your business keeps running.

Learning your contacts

You can either teach Mailfort about your contacts by using it as your outbound SMTP server. Each time you respond or send out an email it learns about who it should trust. Otherwise you can assign different managers to review delivered messages using the fast AJAX interface and categorize them.

Seeing the threats

After a few days you can see threat level for each user, and adjust the protection level, either reducing it for users with little spam or increasing it for users with significant spam problems.

Only trusted techniques

In designing Mailfort we tried and tested all the available spam reduction and elimination techniques, We rejected many failed techniques like Blacklists, Third party databases, digital signatures and sender approval process. All these failed as they stopped real email getting through, something that should never happen. We use baysian filtering only as a recommendation, as even good emails may look like spam, and spammers try so hard to get around this type of filtering. Basically we don't guess with your email, we rely on your knowledge about what is good for you.

Company specific

Each Mailfort installation is specific to your company, you do not share blacklists or whitelists with other companies So you control your email, not a maverick admin in some other company.
